So I guess we will be seeing less of Zanjoe Marudo these coming days.
Model turned actor Zanjoe Marudo of Pinoy Big Brother fame reportedly quit his daily gag show Banana Split. I know Zanjoe will be starring opposite my dear friend Cristine Reyes for the Kristine Series but others think it is more than that.
An article on a major broadsheet said that Zanjoe Marudo quit from Banana Split because he feels that he is being disrespected for doing comedy, or stated positively, receiving less respect that a dramatic actor receives.
The article quotes Zanjoe saying, “Gusto kong makuha ‘yong respeto ng ibang tao, ng ibang artista, ng mga katrabaho ko.”
His reason may seem alright on the superficial but wouldn’t that make a backlash on him? His remark insinuates that being a comedian receives substandard respect, so to speak.
We have seen numerous comedians whose career had soared high. If the article is to be believed, I guess Zanjoe quit for the wrong reason.
If one is to analyze what he said, does that mean that Zanjoe sees doing comedy and gags with a condescending view?
Butif he is serious qwith earning respect, I suggest he stops posing semi nude on cam for now. Or if you ain’t satisfied with the photo above, click to see if this is the respect he really intends to earn. (Click for Zanjoe Marudo’s photo)

He’s not getting any respect from being a comedian because he’s one lousy comedian.
laki ng etits ah..kita ung singit..sarap
I have been checking your site from time to time but I am disappointed with this insinuation. We were at his bday party when he mentioned that he is sad about leaving BNNS, he loves doing comedy, he loves the show and he loves working with friends. It was management decision and he cannot do anything about it. It might have been the broadsheet that misinterpreted the quote, but I have read an article about him mentioning earning respect. He never said that he is not respected because of doing comedy. He even said he wants to do it all, comedy, action and drama. In that interview he was talking about Kristine, and leaving BNNS was kept under wraps, was never made official until recently.
“Gusto kong makuha ‘yung respeto ng ibang tao, ng ibang artista, ng mga katrabaho ko. At iyang ang gagawin ko sa Kristine,” pagtatapos niya.http://www.pep.ph
