What was supposed to be a simple farewell of Kris Aquino on The Buzz yesterday turned out to be a controversial one as Kris announces that she is giving up on her husband James Yap.
It is quite given that any controversy Kris Aquino figures herself into will be magnified into epic proportions. But perhaps, yesterday’s was among the biggest controversies Kris Aquino has ever announced in recent history.
Kris Aquino was, at some point yesterday, trending on Twitter’s trending list. And she wasn’t merely trending, Kris was top of the trending list. As a friend said, “tumigil na naman ang mundo sa Pilipinas para kay Kris Aquino.”
Many had been asking what could have been the reasons why Kris and James broke up. Pinoy Gossip Boy was lucky enough to source the reasons behind their break-up.
In a tab article by Salve Asis, she enumerates three reasons why Kris and James ended their relationship. (Note however that it is only Kris who said she has given up on their marriage.)
And I quote:
No. 1 – Nanghingi ng favor si James na kung puwede raw sanang tulungan ni Kris ang kapatid niyang nurse para makakuha ng US visa at makapagtrabaho sa abroad. Pero parang na-misinterpret daw ni Kris at nagalit.
Sagot daw nito sa asawang basketbolista, hindi sila ganun na parang gumagamit ng connection.
Nurse ang nasabing kapatid ni James na sa bahay nilang mag-asawa nakatira habang nag-aaral.
No. 2 – Nagalit si Kris kay James dahil nagpaalam ito na dadalaw sa kamag-anak sa Negros na hindi kakampi ni P-Noy nang kumandidato.
Ayaw daw ni Kris at hindi pinayagan.
No. 3 – Nawala na rin ang closeness nina James at Joshua kaya talagang mainit na raw ang dugo ni Kris sa asawa.
Ms. Asis claims that the reasons she published on her article were given by a very reliable source from ABS-CBN.

Yah, ang babaw nga. I don’t think so, it looks to me as mere speculations. The situations cited maybe true but it may not be the reasons behind. Kris said something about gaps, inemphasize niya na ‘gaps’ because marami na. This development is not a aurprise for me. The factors attendant to this marriage is a recipe for disaster. It is hard enough for an ordinary couple with a ten-year gap to keep a marriage, add to the equation, in this case it is the woman who is older. Another addition to the equation, their celebrity status, and Kris, aside from being a celebrity, she is an “Aquino,” a family name that looms larger than life. Further addition to that equation, their family backgrounds which are on the opposite sides of the spectrum. Given these factors, I think it will take a saint to keep that kind of a marriage.

They are also intellectually unequal, again with Kris gaining an upper hand. I still hope and pray for the best, because Kris, for all her flaws and shortcomings has a very good heart. No separation is sweet and even I won’t pray for it to happen to other couples in similar situation. Just keep your silence Kris for the sake of your and your family’s dignity. God bless you always.

Yes, sobrang babaw ng reasons na yan pero knowing kris, pinapatulan talaga nia ang mga mababaw na issues…. pwedeng totoo rin yan.

James said something in the heat of the moment to their youngest son, and whatever it was, Kris decided it was the final straw. He must have said something pretty harsh, and it’s likely something attacking her personally. Check Ricky Lo’s column.
There’s more than meets the eye. A friend of mine who used to work for the Aquinos, doesn’t even like Kris and her brother, Noynoy. They are similar according to him. From the very start, their marriage is doomed. Just recalling how James’ mother cried when he was about to marry Kris is really intriguing. That’s a sign that even though the girl is an “Aquino”, she was never (that) liked by her husband’s family.

It’s not being judgmental. We have to protect public viewers especially the youth from emulating Kris’ twisted sense of logic. It seems like marriage for her is something to give up on. Nananakit ba si James? Does he neglect the family? Baka nga si Kris pa nga ang nagkukulang. As for the pagsusumbat sa past, bakit, totoo naman, di ba? Bakit magagalit? One has to be humble enough to accept one’s mistakes. James said it in the heat of a big argument. Naiinis na siya na puro nag aartista at nakikipaghalikan si Kris sa mga leading man. The woman is the light of the home. If she isn’t cut out to be a wife, the marriage fails and the family suffers.
