Pokwang apologizes to MTRCB

Premiere comedienne Pokwang had expressed her apology to MTRCB Chairperson Ma.Consoliza P. Laguardia through a letter dated June 15th 2009.  The contents of the said letter are as follow:

Dear Madam:

Thank you for inviting me to your office this afternoon, to discuss my use of boxing gloves bearing a representation of the Philippine flag during the June 12, 2009 broadcast of the program Wowowee.
I wish to reiterate the apology I made du­ring the same broadcast, immediately after I was advised that I should not have used the gloves as part of my costume for Independence Day.

Since I was told that similar merchandise containing the flag were being openly sold to the public in time for Independence Day, I had mistakenly believed that it was fitting to use the gloves for our June 12 episode.

If there was anything improper in my having used the gloves, it was not deliberate on my part, and I sincerely apologize for my error.

I will make sure not to commit the same mistake.

It was indeed very humble of the comedienne to express her humility by writing to the MTRCB Chair herself. In spite of her intentions to commemorate the spirit of the Philippine Independence, she could have been more cognizant of the fact that such displays of the national flag are against the law.  Perhaps this could only be charged to experience and Pokwang can continue to tickle our funny bones with her comedic antics.
