I was shocked by the news that seemingly best of friends Queen of Multimedia Kris Aquino and beauty pageant runner-up Ruffa Gutierrez had a conflict while the program they both host was still airing. Truth be told, I was not able to watch that particular episode of The Buzz for some reasons I am not in the liberty to discuss. However, to give you an idea, I was caught in something which, if not given more than enough attention, would definitely jeopardize the future of this country.
Thanks to technology, I was able to watch the said episode of The Buzz. I was also able to watch the episode of Showbiz Central where Ruffa’s mother, Annabelle Rama, who, by the way, claims to have come from a wealthy family in Cebu, but fails to act as such, uttered unnecessary harsh words directed towards Kris and her brother, Liberal Party presidential candidate Noynoy Aquino.
Annabelle, at one instance, said that Kris might be envious of Ruffa. I asked myself, “in what aspects would Kris be envious of Ruffa?” I think there are plenty of things why Kris should be envious of Ruffa. Perhaps Kris is envious of the fact that Ruffa was born to a showbiz family, her father being an actor and her mother, a former bold star slash die-hard fan. If there is any consolation though, Kris was born to a family of nation builders. Perhaps, Kris is also envious of the fact that Ruffa had to marry for convenience while Kris had to marry out of love. Perhaps Kris is envious of the fact that Ruffa had to bring her daughters to the Philippines so that she could collect child support from her estranged husband while Kris had to do away with not minding whether Philip Salvador would give child support to Josh. I guess Annabelle knows best, Kris might be indeed envious of Ruffa.
Annabelle also said that Ruffa had been constantly bullied by Kris on a weekly basis (read: The Buzz being a weekly show). Perhaps this is true. Who would know of bullying better that the bully herself. If Kris is a bully, I wonder what Annabelle is. People know for a fact that whenever any of Annabelle’s talents are dragged into controversy, Annabelle never fails to amuse the crowd with her own brand of eloquence. No one, but Annabelle, can display such a tactless eloquence fit for someone of her character.
It also bothers me how Annabelle maintains her claim that all of these were instantaneous. In an interview, Annabelle said that she was able to properly inform ABS-CBN bosses (she named at least three) that she will be pulling out Ruffa while just few minutes after the Kris-Ruffa incident, Anabelle was already on air at the rival show, ranting about the incident.
Annabell claims to be the victim by downplaying Kris’ credibility. However, we all know that Annabelle is what she claims herself to be. People know of how Annabelle stalked her then future husband. We also know how Annabelle connived with members of an award-winning body in order for her daughter Ruffa to win an acting awards. And believe me, this is no hearsay. You can check the facts with records of a trial court. Likewise, we know how Annabelle condoned his son Richard Gutierrez when the latter caused the slaughter of his personal assistant in a car crash.
Truth be told, I am sick and tired of Annabelle and Ruffa’s holier than thou attitude. Why can’t this mother and daughter tandem accept the fact that they are doing all of these to cause stir on Ruffa’s network transfer where they raked in a lot of money? Oh, I know. Because, as the song goes, truth hurts!

i can’t agree more. annabelle seems to think that ruffa is second to none in showbiz, when she’s just one of the smaller fishes in the HUGE pond. i understand that this might be mother’s love, but ruffa is an adult, not a kid in grade school.
i think annabelle was very tactless about this issue. i’m glad ruffa kept her mouth shut, and averted questions about the issue, which is one of the most intelligent things she has done throughout the controversy.
ang nakakainins pa, kala mo kung sinong mga sosyal at malinis ang mga gutierrez e alam naman ng mundo kung san sila galing. ung raymond, baklang bakla sa kakadakdak hahaha! mabuti pa daw sa showbiz central, walang bastusan ng mga co hosts, e ano tawag mo sa ginawa ng mo twister kay ruffa mae?? mas malupit ung dj mo, d naman kasali pero nakikisawsaw!
i disagree. in the beginning of the show of that episode of the buzz (pgb pls watch) , ruffa is a standout in her black/white gown. look how the envious kris staring at ruffa and u will know that the miss std kris has bad attitude…
Very true po yan, si annabel akala mo kung siya , Ang bibig super baho, kasi yata no read no wirte yan , walang manners, sasabihin niya si kris mayabang, eh, siya ang reyna ng kayabangan, buti na lang i am not a fan of this family, except Ruffa, coz i like her, the rest nakakasuka, makarma sana kayo ng bonggang bongga. kris always had the habit of looking someone else from head to foot or vice-versa. yes, someone can be offended by it but then it’s her style!
Sa palagay ko ay taktika lang ito ng mag ina para gumawa ng publicity, para sa paglipat ni Ruffa sa 5. Ginamit lang nila si Kris, para magka issue. kapal naman ng mukha ng annabel na yan, kasi di niya ma take na merong taong mas pwedeng amgsalita ng pranka sa kanila na tulad ni Kris. Napaka balat sibuya naman ni Ruffa para yon lang aah iniyakan na niya, the fact na matagal na niyang kaibigan si Kris, she should have known her fully and better than anone else. Manggagamit lang ang mag inang ito, para pag usapan sila. Kapal ng muks mo Annabel, kung ako me inang atulad mo,, magapapatuka na lang ako sa ahas….

I am neither a supporter of Kris nor Ruffa but I do watch TFC’S shows from The Buzz/Snn/ Tv Patrol /ANC etc.
This has nothing to do with Politics nor any members of either the families involved but of two people who happened to be members of 2 well known families.
After having said that, what happened was something that was about to happen a long time ago but what was surprising was it took this long to come out in the open.
This was the fault of ABS CBN for allowing things to go this far . I just hope the management will review all the tapes not only of The BUZZ but even SNN. They had given Kris Carte Blanche and had catered to her for too long.How any times had she deliberately ignore and continue to address Boy Abunda as if RG was invisible or would cut her off? How many times she would show favoritism to other artists coz’ they were her friends or how many times she would do name dropping to show who her friends are in the management? The point is, as a HOST she should try to be neutral and opinions could be given in a tactful manner.
Over and over things would go off hand, then here goes the team for damage control… mia culpas the next day with tears……how long will the public / Filipinos be manipulated?

i agree with you. tapes must be reviewed. i have noticed that too — how kris would address boy as if RG isnt there. For some it might appear that kris is just too smart and that ruffa cant be as smart as her. But for someone unbiased, (i am no fan of any of the two) i find it more like rg wasnt just given the opportunity to speak up cos even before she speaks, kris is there. if you review the tapes, there are moments when rg would seem like she has something to say, has at one point opened her mouth to say something but even before a voice comes out from her mouth, kris is there talking already. i have read the comments here and with the way people comment, cursing anabelle and the rest of the gutierezes, calling kris ms std i cant help but think that you people who cursed here have more bigger problems than kris and ruffa. why get so affected to the point that you guys are cursing people whom you dont even know personally and dont personally know you as well. get a life.
and yea, although politics and showbiz (at least here in the philippines) are intertwined, incidents like these should not be basis for a decision to be made for the other, say politics. we have our own minds to weigh which presidentiable should we vote for and not just rely on who endorses who (who was endorsed by whom)

It makes me wonder why Kris would be envious of Ruffa. Kris is successful in her field, she’s earning big bucks, she has ABS CBN in the palm of her hands and she practically gets what she wants. So I do wonder why she ignores Ruffa, why she bullies her and why she looks at her from head to foot. For someone who seems to have everything, Kris still seems to be insecure and discontented. Has she tasted too much power and wants more of it? Is this the reason why she can never be satisfied? Why she needs to feel superior over everyone else? And why she’s insecure of anyone who does better than her?

you know what? as a writer you should not take sides or be biased. well i couldn’t blame you because your not really a real one. it’s too obvious that your on kris aquino’s side. kris marry out of love? do you really think that james yap marry her out of love?maybe that’s the reason why james is being linked with other girls. james yap marry her out of convinience as well. so please don’t act or write like your a private pubicist of kris aquino. yes annabelle rants very badly but talking about her past behaviour or atttude has nothing to do with ruffa and kris misunderstandings and so is to your write up.
From how i see it, RG is challenged by Kris’ being a smartass as Kris is to RG’s statuesque beauty. Admit it, Ruffa may be intelligent as well but she’s not articulate. She’s just not a host material. Kris…well we all know how maarte she is and Im sure she wouldn’t want to look like RG’s tyahin on screen. We can’t blame her. Sadyang maganda lang talga ang Ruffa at the same time sadyang attention getter and Kris pag nagsasalita. But we can’t have it all. carpe, amen to what you said. Ruffa is in the Buzz for fashion, nothing else. She doesn’t know how to comment properly that is why sometimes people would think that Kris is bullying her. It is also the main reason why RG did not win the beauty contest because the content of her answer was irrelevant to the question. Let’s face it, RG has no place in a live talk show hosted by brilliant hosts who knows their piece. Only Boy and Kris complement each other and only Boy can take the idiosyncracies of a Kris Aquino. Good luck to RG and am sure she will not last long there.
