I received mixed reactions on my most recent post about Noynoy Aquino. Basically, some condemmed Noynoy, some were in defense of Noynoy. Some went overboard by branding me as Anti-Noynoy. I find it proper to address the issue right here on my blog: I am not Anti-Noynoy.
Let me tell you this: truth is, I like Noynoy. My whole family likes Noynoy. Every registered voter in our household, nuclear and extended, will be voting for Noynoy. He tops my short list of three, the rest being Gibo Teodoro and Manny Villar.
Each of the only three presidentiables I have ever considered of voting for has received a fair share of criticism from this blog, one way or another. I blogged about Gibo’s alleged intellectual property breach. I also blogged about seeing Manny in The Fort during the hype of the C5 controversy in the Senate. So, Noynoy’s was not an exception.
The point is, I have already considered these three because I believe in them. Finding something good in them is of no moment because, I repeat, I believe in them. The status quo is that I believe in them and finding faults, no matter how petty, will help me determine who to vote for.
Of the three people I am considering for the highest post in the land, I am most leaning towards Noynoy. For those who do not know, I once volunteered for Noynoy. I was there asking for donations for Noynoy during the concert in UP Theater featuring the APO Hiking Society. I even took photos of me with Bam Aquino, Jiggy Aquino-Cruz, and Jonty Aquino Cruz during the said fund-raising event. I even thought of bringing my volunteerism for Noynoy to an all new level by volunteering full-time for Noynoy.
But somewhere along the way, I lost my interest in volunteering for Noynoy. Sometime in January, I made up my mind. I would dedicate all my spare time for Noynoy’s campaign. I thought this would be a good practical exercise of everything I learned from my political science classes in UP. So ,I expressed my intent to volunteer through an e-mail. Unfortunately, they never replied.
If there is one thing I like most about Noynoy, that would be his ability to mobilize the people, the youth especially. I was so inspired with the fund-raising concert, that, in spite of the short notice, hundreds of youth, including me, volunteered for the said event. I even met new friends there: Carmel and Margaux.
I know a lot of people are volunteering for Noynoy so it would take time for them to reply to my email. However, as I said, they never replied. (Oh yes, I forgot, they tweeted, asking me to send my resume again).
Believe me, I felt rejected. It was the same feeling I had when I received my first (hopefully, my last) four in law school. I confess, I have a big ego, and being rejected is something I fear most. I tried to rationalize: perhaps, my email landed in the spam folder because I used my PGB domain mail; perhaps, there is no vacant posts for volunteers; or perhaps, I am not qualified to be a volunteer. After all, I am just a lowly blogger.
Alright, enough of these melodramatic rationalization I often figure myself into. What I am trying to say is that Noynoy (or maybe not him directly) somehow failed me. My objective and reasonable self tells me that this is of little importance. Okay, this is no big deal. But the less rational side of me hates the “doing something then subsequently finding out that you can’t because you’re ignored” type of feeling.
It is quite hard as of the moment to determine who to vote for. What I can do is to be a silent supporter of my three choices. Ignored or not, it will not change the fact that I like Nonoy and is seriously considering to vote for him.

if you’re leaning most towards noynoy, pwes BOBO ka. law student ka pa naman. tsk tsk tsk
A very intelligent comment. One of the most rational arguments since the Internet was first created.
You said you and your family like noynoy and for what reason? Is it because of their parents? Hopefully not. He did absolutely NOTHING in his 12 years in the government so why him?
I haven’t decided yet but I’m leaning towards Gibo. Why? just follow the below link, I’m too lazy to type. lol. nice blog!

just go to the Expo center near Farmer’s Cubao (Araneta CEnter). Doon yata headquarters ng Noynoy-Mar. I think they can’t handle the sudden influx of volunteers online so its better if you go to the headquarters yourself.
Hi PGB!
As regards volunteering for Noynoy, you may go directly to his headquarters, Parc House, located near the MRT Santolan Station. Very nice ang people handling his campaign. I know this because I now work for a senatorial candidate running under the Liberal Party. I am sorry if you felt rejected, please understand that the working hours are REALLY crazy, so maybe they haven’t checked your resume yet. If you are interested, you know how to reach me. =)
Thanks! Very nice blog. =D
