Paramore Manila concert VIP ticket scam; ticket holders may file charges

Paramore Live in Manila VIP ticket scam

While many people are seemingly praising the so-called successful concert of international music sensation Paramore in Manila, many people who were made believe that they would get the best concert experience by paying a whooping P10,000 think otherwise.

I think it is unfortunate that most events happen on a Tuesday. Last time, I had to miss the premiere night of Miss You Like Crazy because I had Torts class. Since Tuesday is Torts night, I asked my associate to attend the concert and use my tickets instead. Unfortunately, I was informed that we will not be having Torts class that night, so all I can do was say “Arggghhh!”

Anyway, back to the Paramore concert, my associate said that the people who paid a whooping P10,000 pesos for the VIP tickets for the Paramore concert at the SM Mall of Asia (read: the next most expensive tickets are the Gold ones at P3,950) did not get what they initially paid for.

The VIP ticket holders were made to believe by the concert ticket sellers that they will be situated in the area closest to the stage. These people who easily shelled out P10,000 held in good faith that they will be situated to the area closest to the stage come the concert night. However, the concert organizers committed a breach on their obligation. After getting P10,000 pesos from the supposed VIPs, they were pushed further back up to where Gold ticket holders should be. The concert ticket sellers falsely misrepresented the fact that the VIP ticket holders will be situated near the stage while in fact, they will be situated further back. These concert ticket sellers were able to deceive their buyers through abuse of confidence. Since they organized the concert, it is already presumed that they know where these people will be situated. And in fact, they might have prior knowledge that the VIPs will be situated further back.

If you will take a loot at the posters of the Paramore concert, there were no pronouncement or whatsoever about the VIP tickets. This tickets are exclusively sold by select ticket sellers to those who can afford 3 times the cost of the Gold ticket. This alone causes VIP ticket buyers to think that they may have been a victim of ticket scam.

Adding insult to the injury, when a number of VIP ticket holders demanded for a refund, either in full or in art, the concert organizers maintained that they will not be issuing refunds. Instead, the concert organizers will be giving away autographed photos of Paramore. Wow! I didn’t know Paramore photos cost around P7,000.

I guess it is a good thing that I decided to give away my ticket. That way, I was able to avoid all these hassle.
