Movie Review: You to Me are Everything starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
Romantic – comedy movie You to Me are Everything held its premiere night yesterday, May 2, 2010. This is the reunion movie of celebrity couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, so I really find it compelling to write a movie review for You to Me are Everything.
I will start this You to Me are Everything movie review with some backgrounder on the movie. As mentioned, this is the reunion movie of Dingdong and Marian. (see related article here) The movie was shot partly in Benguet, or as Marian would say it in the movie, “from the beautiful mountains of Benget.”
The movie has a typical yet interesting plot. (see related article here) Dingdong plays a city boy, who came from an affluent family – wealthy and highly educated. Due to some family problems, Dingdong lost their assets including their house, among others. Marian, on the other hand, plays a barrio lass. However, Marian is actually an heiress to a wealthy father. Though raised in the provinces, she inherited a lump sum of money including the forclosed house belonging to Dingdong’s family.
Marian and Dingdong’s path met when Dingdong unintentionally entered Marian’s batchroom while drunk. Marian is occupying the same room Dingdong used to until itwas foreclosed. And the rest is, no – not history, but a series of kilig moments.
I know I wrote about Dingdong showing his butt in the movie, but I will leave it for you to see yourselves if he does.
It is quite refreshing to see Dingdong and Marian together on the big screen, after we had too much of them on the small screen. Truly, Dingdong and Marian were in their elements. Romantic-comedy fits them very well. I commend the producers, Regal Films and GMA Films, for finding a perfect genre for the two.
I truly love Marian’s comedic timing. Perhaps, her stint in Show Me Da Manny improved her comic skills. I just have some reservations with Dingdong’s acting. I feel that Dingdong was kinda stiff. But then again, perhaps it was part of this grand master plan to give nuances on the characters of the movie. After all, this You to Me are Everything movie review is just one of the many possible perspectives of the movie.
Marian’s versatility in acting is somewhat highlighted in this movie. From the near-idiotic Iska to the more sophisticated Cesca. However, such shift in personality was not new to Marian as she has done it as well in her previous soap operas.
You to Me are Everything is a perfect movie to relieve stress. It is very light and you do not actually need to think so much to appreciate the movie. This is the advantage of light comedies. It does not add additional baggage. However, you might get a bit emotional during the confrontation scenes between Marian and her mother, and the scene between Dingdong and Marian.
Despite some emotional peaks, the movie still attempts to direct you back on cource with its romantic yet comic approach.
Indeed, this movie is something to watch out for. You to Me are Everything opens on May 5, 2010 in theaters nationwide.

yeah… grabe yung premiere night. really good movie. sana naman ingatan nila si marian at si dingdong kasi kapag REGAL nakakainis tapos ang GMA porke di pa yata pirma another cotract si marian eh medyo hindi nila promote movie. hays sayang minsan lang sila makagawa ng STARS di pa nila ingatan di tulad sa ABS kahit sa HUKUMAN susuportahan ang artista kahit nuknuan na ng sinungaling pinagtatanggol pa rin nila hay naku GMA it is your lost kapag di iningatan ang dalawa na ito palibhasa di demanding itong dalawa compare kay RICHARD g. ok stress reliever para sa mkagulong election.
Naku talagang panonoorin ko ‘to! Talagang pang-relieve ng stress ang arrive.

How can we know if it is good or a bad one if you won’t post evrything in this blog. We’ll it is just for comments. Comments are either positive or negative. If the movie is really good well the truth is ‘it must be watched” But if the movie is not that kind good well maybe the future viewers have the rights to know that. We must present what is good to gain respect from the people. I know you will not submit this. well it is up to your conscience.
