Accused tax offender John Lloyd Cruz
A tax related case had been filed against award winning actor John Lloyd Cruz over the young star’s failure to surrender his accounting books to the Bureau of Internal Revenue. BIR lodged a tax related case against John Lloyd Cruz after the actor’s defiance to a subpoena issue by the Quezon City Office of the Prosecutor requiring him to surrender his accounting books to the BIR.
According to the Information, John Lloyd allegedly failed to appear twice before BIR’s Legal Division Chief. His failure to appear before the BIR officer prompted the Bureau to file a tax related case against him.
John Lloyd’s counsel is quick to clarify that John Lloyd is not facing tax evasion. The case filed against him is in relation to his alleged non-appearance despite the subpoena.
Star Magic, on the other hand, defends John Lloyd by saying that the actor’s accounting books are clean from any discrepancy.
