Despite the heavy rains last night, the house where Chin-Chin Gutierrez is temporarily staying was hit by fire. The house, located at #115 B. Gonzales Street, Varsity Hills in Loyola Heights, was burnt to the ground.
I was first apprised with the situation by my lawyer friend Atty. Wahab, who is currently on leave from Sycip Salazar Hernandez and Gatmaitan. Atty. Wahab said that she had been hearing fire trucks and police cars passing by Katipunan past midnight.
Artist manager representing Ms. Chin-Chin Gutierrez confirmed that the fire indeed came from the actress’ house. In a statement released by Angela Ureta, she said that Chin-Chin had been out of town since Friday, August 27, to attend an ecological workshop and did not learn about the incident until early this morning.
Furthermore, Ms. Ureta said that according to preliminary, unofficial findings, the cause was presumably faulty wiring although they are still in the process of securing the final report from the proper authorities.
Amidst the series of unfortunate events happening in Chin-Chin’s life, she is still lucky that nobody got hurt this time. Some three years back, Chin-Chin’s abode was also hit by fire.
