The Metro Manila Film Festival
The Metro Manila Film Festival may be six months away but the organizers have already revealed the titles of the movies, which made it to the cut. The revelation was held at Club Filipino yesterday.
For this year’s filmfest, there will be a total of eight movies, which will be adjudged during the duration of the film festival.
Each film entries will be be judged based on criteria set forth by the MMFF organizers: story, creativity, writing excellence, innovation and thematic value – 40%; commercial viability – 50%; and Filipino cultural and/or historical value, for a total of 100%.
The eight MMFF entries are:
- Ang Agimat Ni Enteng starring Vic Sotto and Bong Revilla on their first team-up; produced by GMA Films, M-Zet, APT, OctoArts and Imus Productions;
- Ang Tanging Ina Mo Rin (Last Na ‘To!) starring Ai-Ai delas Alas; produced by Star Cinema;
- Dalaw produced by Cine Media;
- Father Jejemon starring comedy king Dolphy; produced by RVQ Productions;
- Rosario produced by Cine Mabuhay;
- RPG, an animated film produced by Star Cinema;
- Shake, Rattle & Roll produced by Regal Films;
- Super Inday and The Magic Bibe starring Marian Rivera
Friends in the biz are now looking forward to Vic and Bong’s Ang Agimat ni Enteng on leading the MMFF box office as the two had been consistently leading box office returns in the previous film festivals.
